Prichett's love of color is vividly apparent in his night photos. "Nighttime transforms cities," he says. "Think of Times Square or the Eiffel Tower at night versus in daylight. The mix of colors runs from neon signs, to car brake lights, and even lasers, all set against the black and shadows of night. Los Angeles, where I live, is especially rich with dramatic architecture strikingly lit after dark." Many of Prichett's best-known images are metal prints of night shots, whose colors radiate an intense saturation far stronger than prints on paper.
